Prime Video brings the TikTok fantasy phenomenon to the screen - and it could be big.

Prime Video is becoming the streaming home for fantasy fans. The platform already boasts genre blockbusters such as Tolkien's prequel saga (“The Lord of the Rings” Season 2 is coming back soon), Robert Jordan's “Wheel of Time” adaptation, and series like “Carnival Row” and “The Legend of Vox Machina”. And soon to be added to its fantasy library is an adaptation of a sure-to-be blockbuster fantasy romance: “The Fourth Wing.”

Yes, you guessed it, Amazon is adapting Rebecca Yaros's best-selling “Romantasy” books into a series with Michael B. Jordan's production company, The Outlier Society.

The “Empyrean” series began with “Fourth Wing,” released in May 2023. In this series, readers are taken inside the Basgiath War College (Basgiath War College). The story revolves around Violet Sollengail. She is ordered by her mother (who is also the country's commander-in-chief) to train to become an elite dragonrider in Navarre.

Thanks to a recent update from Variety, we now know that the “Fourth Wing” TV show has just found its showrunner: the creator of “Anne with an E” and “Fresh and Born,” Emmy-winning ” Breaking Bad” screenwriter Moira Whaley-Beckett.

Worley-Beckett shared the news on Instagram, revealing how excited the screenwriter is to bring the film to life. 'So excited to bring the amazing @rebeccayarros FOURTH WING to series. Thanks to Amazon MGM Studios and Michael B. Jordan's Outlier Society, we'll be able to bring this series to life.”

The series is being developed by Michael B. Jordan's production company Outlier Society.

The team has signed a first-look deal and exclusive TV deal with Amazon MGM Studios for 2019. And thanks to a recent press release, we know that the two production companies are hard at work on the massive project.

Along with the “Fourth Wing” adaptation, Outlier and Amazon are collaborating on several projects: [Outside of this partnership, Jordan is working with Paramount Pictures on an adaptation of Tom Clancy's “Rainbow 6” (directed by “John Wick” director Chad Stahelski) and is also working on a sequel to “I Am Legend” with Warner Bros. Discovery.

The cast list is not yet finalized, but Outlier Society president Elizabeth Raposo, Michael B. Jordan, and Wally-Beckett will serve as executive producers, with Rebecca Yaros and Liz Pelletier (Fourth Wing ), who heads up Entangled Publishing, the publisher of The Fourth Wing, are also on board; Outlier's VP of TV, Stefano Agosto, will also serve as co-executive producer.

[20] Unfortunately, as of this writing, there is no release date yet, and we have just learned that the series has found a showrunner, so it will be some time before “Fourth Wing” - if that is indeed the title - hits the screen! It's going to take a while.
