The Apple Vision Pro may not have been the huge success that recent Apple products have enjoyed, but that doesn't mean Apple is giving up on mixed reality just yet; according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple is still working on a second-generation Vision Pro, a less expensive VR headset, and smart glasses, among other follow-on devices
Gurman's Power on Newsletter claims that a lower-cost version of the headset “will probably appear as early as next year”
Gurman did not say when the second-generation Vision Pro will appear, or what Apple will do to reduce the cost of the lower-cost model He did not specify what he would do Gurman is, however, quite skeptical that such a device would lead to an increase in the popularity of the Vision series as a whole“What's the point? Devices in this category have not yet captured the imagination of consumers, and we don't know when they will,” Garman says Unless inexpensive models cost less than $1,500, Vision devices will probably remain a niche product”
That's right
