Nvidia is joining AI all at Computex2024 with new co-pilot features and tools

Computex2024 kicks off this week and Nvidia is at an event showcasing an assortment of new tools to make AI easier to use on graphics cards.

This includes a new technology demo that runs on laptops with Nvidia GeForce RTX40 series mobile Gpus, SDKs and other toolkits that help developers run generated AI models on Nvidia cards.

Admittedly, it's not as exciting as the new Silicon, but these new releases from Nvidia suggest that after 2024, more applications of AI will emerge in both gaming and productivity.

Here's everything you need to know about what Nvidia has brought to Computex2024.

The big showcase demo Nvidia brought to Computex2024 was Project G-Assist, an AI assistant designed to use generative AI technology to assist players in the game.

Nvidia has partnered with Studio Wildcard to develop a demo to showcase the technology running in Ark: Survival Evolved. Simply put, it takes text or voice input from players, attempts to answer questions about the game using a large language model (LLM), and effectively the AI

Project G-Assist toolkit also includes AI-powered tools designed to help players optimize PC settings for specific games. Computex2024 showcases the Nvidia RTX AI Toolkit, a new package of tools and Sdks designed to help developers run and launch large generated AI models on windows PCs.

This toolkit includes several SDKs and tools to customize and run AI apps on PCs with Nvidia cards. The company opened this month (6 May)

Developers are looking forward to new tools like the Nvidia AI Inference Manager SDK, and partners like Adobe and Blackmagic Design are confirming plans to use this new toolkit in their apps to improve AI performance on Nvidia-powered PCs.

Nvidia also announced plans to partner with Microsoft to make it easier for developers to harness the power of Nvidia graphics cards for use with Windows Copilot and other AI technologies.

Microsoft and Nvidia will release APIs in the developer preview later this year aimed at enabling WINDOWS app developers to take advantage of GPU-accelerated small language models (Slm) and search Extension generation (RAG) capabilities.

I noticed that the word developer and preview comes up a lot in this story because Nvidia is driving AI tools and technology at Computex2024.

Our on-site team passes by at least a dozen new laptops packing Nvidia cards at Computex, but nothing is as rugged as the GeForce RTX4070. No, the new heat is a demonstration of AI technology and a feature of Windows co-pilot running locally on a laptop Gpu.
