14 years later, one of the best open world games ever might hit the PC

John Marston must be the most belated outlaw in wild wild history. The original Red Dead Redemption was launched back in the old days on ps3 and Xbox. Rumors of an old West open world masterpiece finally coming out on PC have been going on for years, but nothing happened. The fact that even Nintendo Switch acquired RDR ports last year feels particularly cruel to PC players everywhere.

Well, wipe those tears, son. There may finally be good news about Red Dead Redemption launched on Pc...Even if the news feels 14 years too late. The latest rumor about Marston's sensational sandbox arriving on 1 of the best gaming laptops is that, just in case, just like any rumor from the well-known dataminer Tez2 (thanks, PCGamer), you have a salt shaker sitting next to your desk.

Earlier today, Tez2 posted the new code via Rockstar Launcher, but its content certainly revealed that Red Dead Redemption could be released on PC in the not-too-distant future. It has traveled a huge expansion and its zombie horror companion, Undead Nightmare, is now available on PC."

Rockstar previously waited a long time for PC players who wanted to experience the iconic developer's game. In both GTA5 and Red Dead Redemption, the pc version was launched after 1 year of the console version, but compared to the 14 years it takes for Marston to get on the best Pc, it's a "blink and miss" time frame.

Rockstar has long kept Cowboys away from Steam and other PC platforms because RDRS have gambled on ps3 and Xbox360. As well as having done some of the most exciting busters, Valve's platform reportedly has 13,200 million active users every month (thanks, demand)

As someone who loves ROCKSTAR's stunning West and its incredible prequel Red Dead Redeemption2 — which plays spectacularly on pc — I'm clearly not sure if this rumor is true. I hope that you will come out. All Rockstar has to do is throw away the same barebones port that Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PS5 received last year. Especially since the latter was soon treated to a free 60fps upgrade that instantly makes it the best version of Red Dead you can play.

Don't misunderstand me, Arthur Morgan's mournful prequel is excellent in almost every respect. The map is larger and more diverse. The hunting system is much more subtle and there are quite a lot of creatures on the stem. And some of the set pieces in those 93 campaign missions have done surprisingly well. That 12-hour epilogue is also one of the best pieces of storytelling I've ever witnessed in a video game.1

There is one area, however, where Marston outguns Morgan when it comes to the final act of pace to the full of his game. I won't spoil the details for any PC player out there who has played the loooongest of overly waiting games, just know that it is both a warm character study and a devastating comment on revenge. I've been playing video games since 1993, but only the ending of The Red Dead and the prologue of The Last of Us made me physically cry.

I can now turn on my PS5 and launch Red Dead Redemption in 60K at 4 frames per second, but I still expect PC players to get the same chance in the near future.
