"It's a much more cheerful feeling, I think, overall," "Bridgerton" composer Chris Bowers told Tudam about the sounds of Season 3. "Obviously, there are ups and downs that we always have in this show. But with Colin and Penn being friends, many of their interactions have a bit of an awkwardness to them - and this season we're going crazy. — There's a lot of fun and lightness that we experience in music and comedy moments.

Bowers detailed how the musical themes of the characters, separately and together, mimic the ever-changing relationship movements of Penelope and Colin, "injecting new sensations into the sound and score for this season.""My thoughts behind Colin and Pen were about this cowardice and how much there was like this 2-step forward, 1-step back. The theme I wrote in melodious has this form intended to evoke this feeling."

Music Director Justin Kamp also gave insight into how they select and place songs and character themes throughout each episode. "At first it's about what matches the choreography, and later it's about what matches the scenes and emotions," Kamps told Tudum. "This year we have a lot of covers that aren't necessarily part of the ball sequence, and we find a cute place to insert something that can be played as a fun cover.
