In 2023/9, Nothing launched a budget sub-brand called cmf with the goal of "making excellent designs easier to use.""Until now, CMF has made several pairs of wireless earbuds. The company also made a well-designed smart watch ""just works and does what it has set to do very well."""

If new leaks from Notebook Check are to be believed, CMF is entering the smartphone game. So far, the phone, called CFM by Nothing Phone (1), looks like a slightly cheaper version of Nothing Phone2a.

The parent brand Nothing has already manufactured one of the best cheap phones on Nothing Phone2a for about11 at 349, while the high-end Nothing Phone2 isド599 on the base model, so the CMF brand budget phone is a new direction for the sub-brand. 

The frequently Android leaker, MlgmXyysd, recently tipped most of the X core specifications and has many similarities with the phone 2a.

The CMF phone (1) will have a slightly smaller 2-inch OLED screen compared to the 6.7-inch AMOLED of the Nothing phone 6.67A. It is supposed to be equipped with MediaTek Dimensity7200 chipset, the same as those that are in 2a.And finally, the CMF phone (1) also appears to have a 5,000mAh battery, similar to 2a, but only 33w instead of 45w fast charging.These days 5,000mAh seems to be the standard for all new phones coming out, including budget and mid-range ones. As storage, the CMF Phone (1) will have 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage with a microSD card slot. Again it is similar to the 2a, but the 2a offers a 12GB RAM version. As for the camera, the CMF Phone (1) will have a 50MP main camera, while the front camera is slightly weaker at 16MP. As we saw in Nothing Phone2a and Pixel7a photography, this is the area where nothing phones tend to degrade performance.

But one difference seems to be in the material for the phone. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the CMF phone (1) will not be accompanied by the same dazzling LED light glyph interface that the phone does not have. Leaker states that the plastic back will be interchangeable, but CMF imagines that it will sell a different back for a little customization.  According to Leaker, the Cmf by Nothing Phone (1) is expected to launch in 249-279 in 2024-7 at a price ofと7 based on the storage capacity chosen by the customer. The Nothing Phone2a is currently priced atー12 with 256GB of RAM and 349GB of storage. 

If this is true, it's nothing and a strange move by CMF, but we assume there is an incentive to pay less for mobile phones.
