New Google Pixel 8a leaks, AI-powered device with durable design

Google's Pixel 8a is a mid-range device that will likely launch this month. This time it's an entire product page that confirms much of the Pixel 8a speculation we've already heard over the past few months and adds some new details.

So far we've been gifted with potential Pixel 8a specs, details on the phone's price, and possible color options; even details on Google's support plans for the Pixel 8a are out there.

The latest leak, shared by 9to5Google, was spotted on Twitter by regular tech leakman Evan Blass. He shared the entire Google Pixel 8a product page in response to some minor complaints on X (Twitter).

The page confirms that the 8a will be available in black, white, blue, and mint. A new detail here is confirmation that the back of the phone will feature a matte finish, which was first hinted at in a hands-on image a few weeks ago.

The leaked product page reveals that parts of the Pixel 8a are made from recycled materials. It is not certain which parts are actually recycled, but from the wording on the page it appears to be the phone's matte back.

In addition, the display will be made of Gorilla Glass 3. The page describes the 8a as IP67 waterproof and "the most durable Google pixel ever."

Several of the leaked pages tout AI tools for photo editing, Circle to Search, and the AI assistant Gemini, which shows Google's continued AI push. Of course, this was a bit expected, as the 8a appears to be powered by Tensor G3, which is also found in the Pixel 8 flagship released last fall.

Google's integration of Fitbit into its devices seems to be moving quickly. According to this leak, customers who purchase the 8a will receive 6 months of Fitbit Premium for free. The service costs $9.99 per month or $80 per year, which would be a nice bonus for Pixel 8a owners, as Fitbit typically only offers a three-month free trial. Previously, this service was only available on the Pixel Watch.

Google will no doubt announce the Pixel 8a at the Google I/O conference scheduled for May 14. Less than two weeks away is enough time for some leaks to emerge.
