LG's webOS 23 is finally coming to these older TVs.

LG's webOS 23 is finally coming to these older TVs.

LG is bringing the latest features and upgrades to older models through new firmware, as seen in the 2023 TV lineup called webOS 23.

The update is being rolled out gradually on 2022 LG TV models, so if you have not been notified of an upgrade, you will need to wait until it is available on your particular model. This applies to LG 2022 TVs in Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America.

LG's webOS 23 includes a completely revamped home screen menu and additional levels of functionality for gaming, music, and home office, among other changes. It also includes security upgrades and performance improvements. [These updates are part of LG's ongoing webOS Re:New program, which will retroactively apply the updated firmware to older TV models released after 2022, with a slight refresh as new models are released.

LG first introduced webOS 23 in early February as an early access beta for select LG TV users. It will now be gradually rolled out to the rest of LG's 2022 TV lineup, including 8K LCD and 8K OLED displays in 2022. However, the LG A2 OLED and LG B2 OLED TVs are off this update sheet and may eventually be updated, but LG has not yet confirmed this.

This update brings much needed performance enhancements, stability, and tighter security to the 2022 model year LG TVs. In addition, a Helpful tips section and Settings at a glance have been added to make adjusting the picture simpler.

LG's webOS 23 also has a completely revamped home screen, adding a wider title card for TV and movie ads and much smoother tiles for categories such as games, music, and home office. These three categories will also have enhanced service features.

LG 2022 TVs to receive webOS 23 updates:

While webOS 23 will begin rolling out with the 2022 models, many are still waiting to see the features that will be found in the 2024 LG TV lineup. Unfortunately, because LG is holding webOS 24 hostage, we will have to wait a full year until 2025 at the earliest to experience these features on older TV models.
