Latest Strava Update Adds Cyclist Performance Data - Here's What's New

Launched today, Strava's latest feature for cyclists, the useful performance data provided by Strava is one of the reasons we included the app among the best running apps in Tom's Guide. Building on the success of the Best Efforts feature for runners, Strava's latest update expands the app's potential for cyclists by introducing Best Efforts for Ride. This new feature is available exclusively to Strava subscribers and can be found on the athlete's "You" page in the Strava mobile app. According to a survey conducted by Strava, 77% of cyclists will achieve best-effort by 2023, with 33% having already reached the milestone in February of this year. This feature will enhance the existing Best Efforts experience by adding new categories such as distance, cumulative elevation gain, maximum ascent, power, and time of relevant intervals. Like the new ride data but don't have a Strava account yet? Here's how to log in and set up your Strava account.

If you are a paid Strava member, starting today you will be able to access the following from the mobile app:

Track your progress in a new category: Best Efforts, for cyclists, from the longest rides, in intervals of 5 seconds to 1 hour. From the highest power output, many achievements can now be discovered.

Access to Highlights: Accessing current Best Efforts is easier than ever. Simply view the details of an activity to see the specific moments when peak performance was achieved.

Dig deeper into your activity data: You can now visualize not only your top three best efforts, but also your top five best efforts for each year you have registered with Strava. This feature provides a comprehensive overview of year-over-year progress and allows cyclists to track their evolution over time.

Cyclists can monitor their accomplishments over distances ranging from 10 km to 180 km and power and time intervals ranging from 5 seconds to 2 hours. This feature mirrors a similar feature introduced last summer for runners, which allows athletes to track their best effort over distances ranging from 400 meters to 50 kilometers.
