Google Teases "Mint Fresh" Update for Google Pixel 8

Google Teases "Mint Fresh" Update for Google Pixel 8

If the Samsung Galaxy S24 doesn't appeal to you, you may be considering Google's Pixel 8 or Pixel 8 Pro. If so, Google may have another reason for you to pick up the device - the new "Minty Fresh" color scheme.

The Google Store is currently showing a countdown to this Thursday, suggesting that this is when the new Pixel 8 will be available. The teaser suggests that this is light green with a wave of paint covering the blue Pixel 8 Pro.

This color appears similar to the sage-colored Pixel 6a, although not as dark. Also, even though the Pixel 8 Pro is shown, the text reads "Google Pixel 8". This suggests that both models may be released in new colors.

The Google Store page also states that if you sign up for the mailing list, you can "save 20% on new Pixel's". This means that the new Minty Fresh (or Mint Green) phone will be on sale at some point in the near future. That means it could be $559, or $799 for the Pro model. However, this has not been confirmed at this time.

But we don't expect anything about the phone to change; major hardware releases for the Pixel are not expected until the Pixel 8a launch in May and the Pixel 9 launch event in the fall. In other words, this is really just a new color, with the possibility of some kind of discount.

And also, the best Pixel 8 deals this month are from various retailers, with the Pixel 8 selling for $549 and the Pro for $799. Not only do you not have to wait for what Google has to offer, but you are guaranteed one of the existing colors at that price. Pixel 8 is Hazel, Obsidian, and Rose; the Pro is Bay, Obsidian, and Porcelain.

However, exact information will be known later this week when the countdown ends on Thursday, January 25 at 3:00 am EST.
