New AI Model Called Morpheus-1 Claims to Induce Lucid Dreaming

Artificial intelligence has entered every aspect of our technological lives over the past few years, from chatbots to cat flaps.

Neurotechnology startup Prophetic has a new AI model called Morpheus-1 that claims to be able to enter a lucid dream state and stabilize that dream.

Lucid dreaming is a dream state in which the dreamer is aware that he or she is dreaming and has some control over the dream characters, narrative, and environment. It is the main plot of the 2010 modern classic Inception, directed by Christopher Nolan.

According to Prophetic, this model takes the current brain state as a prompt and generates an ultrasonic hologram that can be sent to the brain to initiate the lucid dream state and stabilize it.

Morpheus-1, named after the Greek god of dreams, is an AI model trained on eight GPUs over two days using the same transformer technology that powers ChatGPT and MidJourney.

Unlike large-scale language models or image generators, Morpheus-1 takes brain activity as prompts and generates sound waves as output in a form that can respond to that brain state.

This new approach to brain stimulation will be tied into a new headband product called The Halo, which Prophetic will release as a beta program in the spring.

The Halo sends sound waves, or ultrasonic holograms, to the brain, connecting them to the current brain state and combining them to bring the mind into a lucid state. 15]

According to the prophecy, "lucid dreaming is a type of dream in which the dreamer is aware that he or she is asleep."

The lucid dream is a dream in which the dreamer is aware that he or she is asleep.

They can effectively control their dreams and the company states that it is a "particle accelerator for consciousness" that allows people to gain self-awareness.

To me, it seems like a state where you can become the protagonist, decide where to go, and turn your mind into the most realistic open world game possible.

There are countless studies on the phenomenon of lucid dreaming, as well as research on how to induce it.

One group of researchers found that when asked to squat while lucid dreaming, their heart rate increased as if it were real, even though they were not moving.

It has also been shown as a way to treat nightmares and nightmare disorders because it can change the response during lucid dreaming into something more powerful. It has also been proposed as a technique to treat clinical depression and PTSD.

This technique, one of the best techniques for entering the lucid dream state, is also a threat to good sleep, since it involves waking up after four hours, concentrating, and then going back to sleep.

Prophets claim that their technique not only induces a lucid dream state and keeps you active and stable longer, but also provides a safer way to get to that state in the first place.

"Morpheus-1 is a quantum leap forward in its mission, inducing on-demand, conscious experiences with ultrasound and moving us closer to changing the world forever," the company writes in X.

The Morpheus-1 is a "new way to induce lucid dreaming. Specifically, the headband sends ultrasound signals to the brain. Halo "uses a neurostimulation system to replicate the neural activation patterns typical in natural lucid dreaming."

I'm not on the list of beta testers; I find AI fascinating, but I don't find it fascinating enough to put my brain state and dreams in charge. But the underlying concept is fascinating, and if it works as the developers suggest, it could lead to major breakthroughs in how we see ourselves.
