The wait is finally over, and we finally know who will be in Marvel's "Fantastic Four." [especially after it was reported last week that Pedro Pascal had been cast in the MCU film based on SAG-AFTRA's list.

But now it's official. Pascal will indeed play Reed Richards, a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic who can expand and contract. He will be joined by Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm aka Invisible Woman, Ebon Moss-Backlash as Ben Grimm aka The Thing, and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm aka Human Torch.

Rumors such as those confirmed in this post are not the only casting rumors. The Fantastic Four movie is set in the 1960s, and there has been talk for months that the superhero family will eventually come to the present day, perhaps in the same vein as Captain America (h/t Comic Book Movie).

Given the retro feel of the art style used for the Instagram announcement, this rumor may be true.

Coming from "Game of Thrones," he's certainly been a force to be reckoned with in Hollywood over the past few years. He is currently starring in HBO's "The Last of Us" and is the voice of the titular bounty hunter in "The Mandalorian."

Since her breakout role as Princess Margaret in the first two seasons of "The Crown," Vanessa Kirby has appeared in two major film franchises: "Mission: Mission: Impossible / Fallout" and "Deadly Hallows" and "Wild Speed Hobbs & Shaw. She was also nominated for an Academy Award for her portrayal of a grieving woman in "Pieces of a Woman," and most recently starred opposite Joaquin Phoenix in "Napoleon.

Recent Emmy winner Ebon Moss-Backlash won the hearts of "The Bear" viewers as the rough-and-tumble Richie, and also had an impressive turn in 2022's "Andor." Prior to that, he appeared in various shows, including "Girls," "The Punisher," and "The Dropout."

The British actor got his breakthrough role as the electric guitar-playing hero Eddie Munson in season 4 of "Stranger Things. He went on to appear in "The Quiet Place," "Gladiator," "Day One: Day One," "Gladiator 2" (with Pascal), and now "Fantastic Four."

The new cast was not the only bomb Marvel dropped on us in an Instagram post about its latest attempt to adapt Marvel's "First Family" to film.

"Fantastic Four" will also have its release date pushed back to July 25, 2025. This will be an additional delay of almost three months to a project that has already been underway since 2019. With the principal cast finally set, hopefully this latest delay will be the last.

However, this also means that "Thunderbolts," which previously occupied the July 25 slot on the calendar, will be moved forward to May 2, 2025, the release date of "Fantastic Four." This move has been confirmed by Disney (h/t ComingSoon), which is a bit of a surprise given "Thunderbolts'" own production and casting issues.

In a "Part 2" interview with Dune: Entertainment Tonight, Florence Pugh admitted that "Thunderbolts" is close to filming.
