Samsung Galaxy S24 Release Date Revealed - When is it?

We've heard rumors that Samsung's Galaxy S24 could launch a little earlier than last year, and now a new report claims to know exactly when. According to Korean news site The Elec, Samsung may launch its Galaxy S24 lineup on January 17.

The Elec report cites unnamed Samsung officials and claims that this new Galaxy Unpacked event will be held in San Jose. This is clearly part of Samsung's increased cooperation with Google and increased competition from Apple.

This news would be consistent with the rumors we have been hearing about the phone's release. Initially, it was speculated that the phone could come out a month early this year; given that the Galaxy S23 was announced on February 1, this would mean that the next Galaxy Unpacked would be in early January. This would later be clarified to mean a mid-January launch, avoiding a conflict with both Holiday and CES.

Reservations will likely begin on January 19 and continue through January 25. Apparently, there will be a special "presale" between January 26 and 30, where pre-orders will be delivered prior to the January 30 general sale.

We already know quite a lot about Samsung's Galaxy S24 series, thanks to countless leaks over the past few months. Rumors abound of a brighter display, a possible titanium frame, a performance-enhancing Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, and even a significant boost in AI processing capabilities that would give the Google Pixel a run for its money.

It is also possible that Samsung's Galaxy S24 Ultra will follow Google's lead and eliminate the curved display, accelerating the demise of this particular design. In my opinion, that can only be a good thing.

It's not too long until the supposed launch date of the Galaxy S24, but there is still plenty of time for more rumors and leaks to pop up. Be sure to check the Samsung Galaxy S24 and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra hubs for the latest news and updates.
