GTA 6 Trailer: How to Watch and Release Time (in your time zone)

In a year that has been packed with amazing releases, it takes a certain amount of star power (or should I say rock star power?) to unveil a trailer for what will be one of the most anticipated events of 2023 in the video game industry. But "Grand Theft Auto 6" does just that.

Rockstar Games has announced that the debut trailer for "GTA 6" will be released on Tuesday, December 5 at 9 a.m. ET. The new trailer, like the debut trailer for "GTA 5," can be viewed on Rockstar's official YouTube channel. In fact, the YouTube premiere page is now live and the countdown has begun!

The premiere page also confirms that the trailer is 1 minute and 31 seconds long. Last month, the company revealed in a Rockstar Newswire post that the first official look at GTA 6 would be released in early December.

"Thanks to the incredible support of players around the world, we have the opportunity to create a game we are truly passionate about. Without you, none of this would be possible and we are so grateful to you for sharing this journey with us," wrote Rockstar President Sam Hauser.

"In 1998, Rockstar Games was founded on the idea that video games would become as integral to our culture as any other form of entertainment, and we are thrilled to be a part of that journey.

As noted above, the trailer will be officially released on Tuesday, December 5 at 9:00 AM ET. Click here for times in other time zones.

Much about GTA 6 is speculative at this point, but many rumors have swirled in the decade since the release of the previous Grand Theft Auto 5 to critical acclaim.

As for a release date, speculation based on parent company Take-Two's sales projections puts the release date of "GTA 6" between April 2024 and May 2025. As for the consoles on which it can be played, a May 2024 release means that the game will have entered the PS5/Xbox Series X generation by that time. It is possible, however, that Rockstar will be generous and release a PS4 and Xbox One version.

In September 2022, Rockstar confirmed that GTA 6 is officially in development. However, the game's makers have released few details about the game's setting, characters, features, and other details that fans might expect. We now know that the reason for this is that they want to unveil a game that "exceeds players' expectations," especially since they have been away from the series for such a long time.

This plan was scuttled earlier this year when hackers gained unauthorized access to Rockstar's servers and downloaded confidential data, including more than 90 pieces of unfinished gameplay footage. Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier spoke with a confidential source who described the incident as "a nightmare for Rockstar."

In response, Rockstar issued a statement saying it was "very sorry" about the data leak, but that it intends to continue work on "GTA 6" as planned. This week's trailer will be the first peak at how those years of work have come to fruition.
