OnePlus Watch Launches on 3/23 — Here's the proof

We have long suspected that OnePlus would finally enter the wearables market this year. Now the company has almost confirmed that the OnePlus Watch will launch along with the OnePlus 9 family on March 23.

First, there was this tweet from OnePlus.

Then the company went further on its own forum, promising a "fresh addition to the OnePlus family" that is "healthy, punctual, and will take care of you while you sleep."

Unless the company is secretly working on a butler/personal trainer hybrid robot, this sounds like a wearable. The post even adds that you can guess from the bad puns in the text." The sentence includes phrases like "watch this space" and "the clock is ticking.

Other comments in the forum will give no further clues, but it will be an "incorrect answers only" game where members guess what the mystery product is. When it is released, it will be given away for free to nine lucky winners.

Rumors of OnePlus releasing its own smartwatch date back many years, with OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei telling our sister site TechRadar that the company developed both a fitness tracker and a Bluetooth speaker, but canceled both at the last minute. "We asked ourselves, 'What are we going to do with this? We asked ourselves, 'What are we going to do? We justified the move by saying, "We decided that in order to ensure a quality product launch, we needed to focus on smartphones and left the wearables and speakers to people who knew what they were doing.

It is safe to say that the company is now quite happy to move beyond its smartphone comfort zone; OnePlus not only has its own Bullet earphones, but has also branched out into the TV market.

What the OnePlus Watch will look like remains to be seen. Past designs like the tweet above indicate that a round face is planned, but it is worth noting that the company's sister company, Oppo, has released a wearable that closely resembles the Apple Watch. Although both companies operate independently, it is clear that both companies' devices have shared design cues in the past, as can be seen by comparing and contrasting the Oppo Find X2 Pro and OnePlus 8 Pro.

All will be revealed on March 23, along with no less than three OnePlus phones. This will be by far the largest launch event the company has ever held.
