Call of Duty: Warzone has finally made Verdansk a nuclear weapon — but it's not over yet

Call of Duty: Warzone has finally nuked the Verdansk map, but it's not over yet. A second phase of this limited-time event is in the works and will begin later today.

Verdansk's 1980s-style makeover was leaked earlier this month, and Activision officially teased the nuke event last week. On April 21, just before the Season 3 update went live, a nuclear blast burned through the map, and Activision extended the event by an hour for players who missed the first window due to server issues. (Be sure to arrive early to allow plenty of time for part two.)

Part 2 of the Call of Duty: Warzone Verdansk event will take place today, April 22 at 12pm PT/3pm ET/8pm BST/9pm CEST. You can log into the game by downloading the latest update that will kick off Season 3.

Players are limited to Rebirth Island for now, so you won't see Verdansk in all its 80s glory until the event has run its course. Hopefully the server will hold up for today's event. However, if there are any problems, the time to complete the event may be extended, just as it was last time.

Call of Duty: Warzone's latest update is packed with everything but updated maps. This 25 GB patch brings a new limited-time "Hunt for Adler" event tied to both the Warzone and Black Ops Cold War challenges; Cold War has three new operators, six new weapons, and four new multiplayer maps; and the new Warzone map is a new map for the Black Ops Cold War challenge, which includes a new map for the Black Ops Cold War challenge, a new weapon for the Black Ops Cold War challenge, and a new map for the Black Ops Cold War challenge.

If you are only interested in the Verdansk update for Warzone, you can follow the teaser on the Call of Duty Twitter account.

If you play Call of Duty: Warzone or Black Ops Cold War on PC, there is one update you definitely do not want to miss. Both titles have just received a DLSS boost for gamers with Nvidia GeForce RTX GPUs. This update should improve performance by 70% at 4K.

Or, according to Activision, you can "reinvest the extra performance in higher detail levels and higher rendering resolutions."
