The Xbox Game Pass is about to get even better value, with the addition of "FIFA 21" and "Red Dead Online" as the first additions for May.

The May update, announced on Xbox Wire, will add the latest installment of EA Sports' epic soccer franchise to Game Pass on May 6. And a week later, on May 13, RockStar's stand-alone online western frontier simulator Red Dead Online will be available for download at no extra charge.

Note that subscribers will only have access to Red Dead Online and not to the main single-player mode of Red Dead Redemption 2. The sequel to this epic western has previously been available in its entirety with a game pass, but this time only in multiplayer mode.

These are not the only two titles being added in May. Final Fantasy X and X-2 HD will also join the Game Pass. These refreshed versions of two legendary JRPGs are perfect for nostalgia and an ideal entry point for those who have yet to experience the Final Fantasy series. Just Cause 4: Reloaded, Outlast 2, and the upcoming release of Psychonauts 2 will also join Xbox Game Pass this month.

In addition, for sports fans who are not quite ready for "FIFA" ...... For those who are sports fans and are not so keen on "FIFA," the extreme sports sandbox "Steep" will also be available this month. All in all, it's a pretty strong lineup that offers something for every type of player. What's more, most of these titles are playable on the Xbox Series X as well as PC and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

But it's not all good news for Game Pass subscribers. These include Alan Wake, Final Fantasy IX, and Hotline Miami. If you haven't played these games yet, you might as well get to them quickly before they disappear from the service. Alternatively, you can still enjoy the games after the middle of this month by purchasing them with the Game Pass discount.
