The Apple AirTag has only been out in the world for a week, but it has already had its fair share of problems, from scratching to stalking. But one YouTuber decided the gadget was too thick for his wallet, and the AirTag card was born.

Andrew Ngai set himself the task of disassembling his AirTag and reassembling the parts into a wallet-ready card without the unsightly bulge. 10-minute video might make you want to try it yourself, but Ngai warns that it is not for the average user Ngai warns that it's not for the average user. In his quest to recast the AirTag in a thinner form factor, Guy gave up prying the PCB from the plastic shell. He had to resort to heating it to 150 degrees Fahrenheit (65 degrees Celsius) to soften the adhesive and remove the PCB.

Since the circuit board and battery are stacked inside the AirTag, by splitting them up and laying them side by side, Guy was able to significantly reduce its thickness. Additionally, he has demonstrated that it fits neatly into a wallet in its new state.

As he points out, this is not for the faint of heart, having just paid $29/£29/$45 Australian for AirTag. But if you have experience with this sort of thing, or are willing to spend money on something new even if it fails to work, then you can decide if it's worth the risk.
