Apple's fabulous AirPods Pro is a prime candidate for Amazon Prime Day deals, and as we've seen in the past 24 hours or so, a pair of Cupertino's premium true wireless earbuds are discounted below $200. And in the UK, the AirPods Pro are on sale for £187 from the original price of £249. Both are among the best deals on AirPods on Prime Day.

The AirPods Pro discount is not to be missed, as the AirPods Pro holds the #2 spot on our Best Wireless Earphones list and is a rather good companion to the likes of the iPhone 12 Pro (by the way, check out our Best iPhone Prime Day deals). Because it's a companion. However, there is one reason to hold off on buying the AirPods Pro 2.

Naturally, Apple has been tight-lipped about the AirPods Pro 2, but leaked information so far gives us some idea of what this upcoming badass set might do. According to some rumors, it could appear in the fourth quarter of 2021, so we have a few months to wait.

However, other reports have the AirPods Pro 2 arriving in 2022, making it an even longer wait. With that in mind, if you want a great earphone with active noise cancellation, it may be worth taking the plunge and getting the AirPods Pro while they are discounted.

As for the AirPods Pro 2's features, there are rumors that it will have built-in fitness tracking, use the new Apple H2 chip for sound processing and ANC, and feature a new compact design.

While fitness tracking would be useful, some argue that it would be better to use the Apple Watch. The AirPods Pro 2 is also expected to improve sound quality, although the current AirPods Pro sound very impressive. The earbuds also have a small microphone, which is ideal for picking up voices when making hands-free calls.

For those concerned about battery life, the AirPods Pro offers up to 4.5 hours of ANC-enabled playback time; MagSafe charging has been suggested for the AirPods Pro 2, which is a fairly attractive addition, but not an essential feature It is hard to say.

Thus, if you are looking for new wireless earbuds or are looking to upgrade from the standard AirPods, we recommend jumping on the AirPods Pro deal. They are excellent earbuds and well worth getting on sale.

But if you don't fancy going the Apple route, the Sony WF-1000XM3 is discounted for Prime Day. Sony's WF-1000XM4 has been released, but the WF-1000XM3 still offers excellent sound quality and noise cancellation, making this badass set of earphones a solid alternative to the AirPods Pro.

But whatever you choose, Amazon Prime Day is one of the best days of the year to find a pair of impressive earbuds or headphones and low prices.
