"Call of Duty: Vanguard" is scheduled to launch this November, but avid players won't have to wait until then, as the PlayStation Blog has confirmed that an exclusive alpha will take place this weekend on PS5 and PS4.

The Call of Duty Vanguard Alpha, which will run from Friday, August 27 through Sunday, August 29, will give participants access to the new Champions Hill mode. This mode is described as a "multi-arena survival tournament where tactics and strategy merge with quick-action and close-combat gunplay."

This mode can be played in either duos (2 vs. 2) or trios (3 vs. 3), with your squad competing against seven other squads in round-robin matches to win, reminiscent of the "gunfights" in 2019's "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare." It should be a pretty intense mode.

Participating in the Call of Duty Vanguard Alpha will not only allow you to experience the game prior to its release. You will get exclusive Vanguard calling cards and emblems when the full version is released, and you will also have access to these customization items in Call of Duty Warzone later this year.

Call of Duty Vanguard will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC, but the alpha version will only be available on PS5 and PS4; don't worry if you don't play on PlayStation; the beta will take place by November and will be available on all platforms, and will be playable on all platforms.

Participating in the Call of Duty Vanguard Alpha is very easy. First of all, there are no additional requirements to participate. There is no need to pre-order the game or have a PlayStation Plus membership.

The alpha will begin at 10:00 am PT on August 27 and will run until the same time on August 29. However, you can already preload your client so you can jump right into the action when the alpha begins.

If you already own Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Warzone, or Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, you can access the alpha from the main menu of those titles. Simply select the Vanguard Alpha blade on the far left side of the main menu screen. Clicking this option will take you directly to the PlayStation Store and begin downloading the Aphla client.

If you do not have any previous Call of Duty titles or do not currently have them installed on your system, the Alpha can be accessed from the PlayStation Store; if you search for Call of Duty Vanguard Alpha on either PS4 or PS5 It should show up right away.

Alternatively, you can also start the download from your PC or mobile device via this link for the PS5 version or this link for the PS4 version; once you redeem the Alpha with your PSN account, you will be able to access it from the console's game library section.
