Here is the card against Humanity Family Edition: How to Get It for free

Cards Against Humanity is a game that I never expected to see a family-friendly version of. But it seems like absolutely everything that could never happen has happened.

Today (April 2), the folks at the Chicago-based card game Cards Against Humanity did the unthinkable and released Cards Against Humanity: a family version. What kind of family-friendly is it? We haven't met your children, but this game is intended for ages 8 and up."

Yes.

Yes, for all those parents who love playing Cards Against Humanity online but thought they couldn't bring this lewd game to the isolated family table, an answer not named Apples to Apples has finally arrived! It's called Apples to Apples.

The team has rated the content PG in terms of what profanity is present in the game and is conducting a "family playtest." In terms of profanity, "Crap" and "boobies" are comparable to this game in terms of profanity, they said.

Of course, everyone has a different parenting style, so the CAH team says, "Parents... . look over these cards before playing with their families and remove anything they don't like, as different children have different sensitivities," they advise. That said, as you go through the download process, you will see how "family-friendly" this version is.

And don't worry, this is not just a censored version of a classic. According to the product page, the team "rewrote the entire game from scratch and play-tested it thoroughly with children so that both adults and children could enjoy it together."

And best of all, it's free. Of course, the company hopes to one day make money from the game, stating that "our greatest hope is that everyday life will return to normal and humanity will unite to end war: that the family version will be available in stores nationwide."

One reason it may be free now is because the team is calling "Cards Against Humanity" a beta: the Family Edition is a beta. Here's how to get it now and play.

Again, I urge you to read the cards for yourself before deciding if it's a great way to spend an evening with the kids. Since this is a beta, CAH is also looking for feedback.

Then, if you'd like to order the original, non-PG Cards Against Humanity box, see the update below.
