Sony's WH-1000XM4 wireless headphones are rumored to be the same price as the previous model while adding some improvements, which is good news for those looking for a low-cost, high-quality noise-canceling headphone.

The rumor is based on a now-deleted Best Buy page captured by The Walkman Blog (via TechRadar). The leak includes several images as well as a price, which at $349 is the same as the price of the Sony WH-1000XM3.

This means that the WH-1000XM4 is $50 cheaper than the Bose 700 noise-canceling headphones, making it a top contender for our Best Noise-Canceling Headphones list.

Leaks also indicate that Sony's new WH-1000XM4 will offer improved power usage, improved Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, and a new voice assistant feature.

Sony's WH-1000XM3 headphones have been on our best wireless headphones list since their launch, so we are very excited about the next product in the series.

The XM4s, like the XM3s, uses 40mm drivers and supports Siri, Google Assistant, and Alexa for your voice command needs. It also uses Bluetooth 5.0 rather than the new Bluetooth 5.1 standard, but hopefully it can be updated.

A comparison photo of the old and new headphones by The Walkman Blog shows that not much separates the two. There are some changes to the headband, with thicker padding at the top, modified hinges and seams, and supposedly less noise generated by moving the headband. In addition, there are larger cushions in each ear, which should improve comfort, if not noise cancellation.

There are still two buttons on the left cup, but the large button on the XM3 that toggles the noise cancellation mode is now labeled "Custom" on the XM4. This is a clear indication that Sony will offer customizable controls with the XM4 headphones.

Sony's main competitor is the Bose 700 noise-canceling headphones; while Bose headphones do everything nearly perfectly, they are expensive, with a list price of $400. If Sony's XM4 really is $350, the same as the previous generation, it could take the crown.
