Reveal the date the PS5 just leaked – here's when it came

No date has yet been announced for Sony's PS5. However, according to a new leak, Sony's new console will be available within a month, at which point the console will be available for pre-order.

Multiple tweets made by user PSErebus (via BGR) claim that the final design of the PS5 will be revealed in early June, with information available and where we can next see the outer shell of the PS4 successor.

PSErebus' main claim is that the PS5 console will be revealed in a PlayStation Blog post on June 2. That is less than a month away and cannot come soon enough.

Unlike Xbox, which has been revealing the console since its announcement, Sony has kept the PS5 under wraps. Aside from the dual-sense controller, the PS5 may come in two-tone black and white by default.

Additionally, the PS5 will appear on the cover of the August issue of Official PlayStation Magazine, which will be published in June.

PSErebus also said that existing reservations and registrations are largely meaningless, in a blow to PlayStation fans who want to get their hands on the PS5 as soon as possible. Sony will not make the PS5 available to retailers until after the announcement date, and even then the PS5 will likely be in short supply due to confusion related to the coronavirus outbreak.

The account also tweeted that a number of games will be available on November 20, 2020 that take advantage of the PS5's "boost mode". While both will likely launch in November, the two consoles have two different goals: the PS5 is pursuing immersion through multiple means, including tactile feedback and 3D audio, which is part of the DualSense controller. The Xbox Series X, on the other hand, aims to enhance graphics with a more powerful GPU.
