Airpods Studio is ready to launch — here's when Apple's Bose killers are coming

Apple's AirPods Studio headphones appear to be closer than ever, and a new leak suggests that the high-end headphones could be ready in time for the WWDC event in a few weeks.

According to DigiTimes sources, the AirPods Studio has entered mass production, which indicates that Apple may be preparing for the June 22 developer conference, although DigiTimes did not mention specific sources related to this rumor, The magazine's Apple prediction has been on target before.

"With Apple likely to accelerate its suspension of wired earbud sales, the vendor has resumed regular shipments of AirPods 2 later this year and has also begun production of new over-ear headphones called AirPods Studio.

This with previous chatter we have heard that Apple has plans to remove the wired headphones EarPods from the iPhone 12 box and try to encourage people to buy its AirPods wireless earphones or AirPods Pro Track. And by launching the new over-ear headphones ahead of the iPhone 12 launch in September, Apple will give fans a wider choice of headphones for their new phones.

The AirPods Studio is rumored to cost $349, which would put it on par with top-rated wireless headphones like the Bose 700 and Sony's WH-1000XM3. However, they will offer smart features such as active noise cancellation, ear detection, and a custom equalizer for better control of the headphones' audio output.

Whether Apple can compete with the best wireless headphones remains to be seen. But the AirPods Pro impressed us, and with the arrival of the AirPods 3, Apple may be able to deliver a one-two punch of hearing to established players in the wireless headphone world.
