Ninja Battles featuring Fortnite is the latest big event to take place around the hugely popular online game Fortnite. This time, instead of watching a concert, prolific streamer Ninja will entertain the world's best Fortnite players as hosts (and competitors).

According to a press release, Ninja has lined up a series of opponents for six events that will take place tomorrow through July. Each week they will battle for $80,000.

Ninja and Mixer have good timing. Fortnite has also become a hive of pop culture popularity, with rapper Travis Scott and director Christopher Nolan using the service for big streams.

Just start up Ninja's Mixer channel. Half the goal of the series seems to be to attract viewers to the game streaming site, which competes with Twitch and has seen little recent growth.

According to the press release, contestants will include Nick Eh 30, Buggha, Ewok, NateHill, and Reverse2K, for a total of about 60 players. BallaTW and MonsterDface will provide play-by-play and commentary for the series.
