Xbox Series X Just Got a New secret Weapon to Beat PS5

The Xbox Series X could be getting a new audio accessory from renowned headphone and speaker maker Bang & Olufsen. This is a massive partnership to steal the thunder from the PS5's advanced 3D audio.

We learned about this new arrangement from an announcement made on Bang & Olufsen's Twitter account (via TechRadar). The attached press release explains that the company and Xbox are working on a "high-end audio proposition for gaming. The product will officially be "Designed for Xbox" and will easily work with the new console's features.

In a statement, Matt Kesselring, head of hardware partnerships for Xbox, said, "We have partnered with Bang & Olufsen to bring Xbox and Bang & Olufsen fans worldwide a new We are pleased to bring premium-class gaming audio to market."

Christoffer Poulsen, Vice President and Head of Product Management at B&O, also commented, "We see great commercial potential in gaming and believe we have found the ideal partner to realize that potential with Xbox."

Unfortunately, this is all the companies have said so far; we don't even know what products B&O will release, but a smart guess would be a gaming headset.

This partnership is an interesting development, as B&O has so far not made any moves to attract customers from the gaming world. However, as gamers grow and more people play in general, more people will be willing to pay whatever B&O has planned for the Xbox, which will probably be a premium price.

There is also talk that Bose is working on a gaming headset based on its excellent QuietComfort 35 II noise-canceling headphones. Perhaps this will be the beginning of a trend of existing audio companies trying to attract console gamers.

This collaboration between B&O and Xbox is expected to come to fruition around the same time that the Xbox Series X and PS5 are scheduled to launch, i.e., in November of this year. the PS5 may lead in the sound department since it has 3D audio, but the Xbox may surpass the PS5 in graphics thanks to its higher computing output.
