New reports suggest that Samsung's next-generation smartwatch, the Galaxy Watch 2 (now believed to be called the Galaxy Watch 3), will be announced as early as next month
SamMobile, a site that has credited several recent Samsung leaks, said the company's upcoming wearable will be announced in July, ahead of the rumored Samsung Galaxy Note 20 event on August 5 These include the fitness-focused Galaxy Buds X (now Galaxy Buds Live) and the Galaxy Watch 3
SamMobile's report also mentions pricing and a possible bundle promotion for the aforementioned wireless Buds Live, but does not reveal pricing for the Galaxy Watch 3
The original Samsung Galaxy Watch cost $32999 when it debuted It is possible that Samsung will keep this price range, but rumors of a rotating bezel and titanium finish could jump it up to Apple Watch prices Incidentally, the latest Apple Watch Series 5 starts at $399
The next-generation Apple Watch 6 is expected to adopt the pricing of the previous generation We are sure Samsung has factored that into its tactics to challenge Apple for the title of best smartwatch
And if SamMobile's report of a July release proves true, Samsung will certainly beat Apple; the Apple Watch 6 won't appear until September at the earliest
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 will feature a Gorilla Glass DX display, GPS, 8GB of storage, and water resistance to 5ATM standardsThe Watch 3 may also steal the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2's new blood pressure monitoring feature may be stolen, and it may have a larger battery than its predecessor
