Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 Design just leaked — Here's your first look

Leaked photos of the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 reveal a design reminiscent of the original Galaxy Watch and the return of the rotating bezel.

These images, spotted by Korean blog Naver, come from the certification list used as part of the final process the device goes through before it is released to the public. Since these designs will not be changed between certification and release, there is little doubt that the Galaxy Watch 3 will look like this.

There will be two sizes, one with a 41mm face and the other with a 45mm face. Both versions are rumored to feature a rotating bezel for navigating menus. The rotating bezel will have a gear-like tooth design, which will be particularly noticeable on the larger dial, while the smaller dial will have a smoother design.

The basic lines will match those of the Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch Active 2, but the Galaxy Watch 3 is expected to be smaller overall with a larger screen-to-body ratio. It is also expected to have the same size battery as the Galaxy Watch Active 2, which is smaller but more efficient than the Galaxy Watch battery.

The large, round design of the Galaxy Watch 3 contrasts with the rounded, square face of the Apple Watch 5. Which design looks better is up to you, but it seems certain that the Galaxy Watch 3 has an advantage over Apple's smartwatch when it comes to sensors such as sleep tracking and the new ECG feature. But that may be short-lived once Apple unveils the Apple Watch 6, which is expected to introduce sleep tracking and other features.

According to leaks, the Galaxy Watch 3 will be released in July, not August alongside Samsung's Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Fold 2. The smartwatch will be available in both LTE and GPS versions, with a choice of stainless steel or titanium cases, and is rumored to feature the latest version of the Tizen OS.
