Apple Watch6 can replace your iPhone with this huge upgrade

The Apple Watch 6 and other future Apple Watch models could feature better wireless networking systems.

In a patent discovered by AppleInsider, Apple proposes to incorporate a wireless connectivity antenna in the Apple Watch display, increasing its surface area compared to the current mechanism.

Apple has not stated how much the Apple Watch's wireless connectivity would be improved with an in-display antenna, but seems confident that a larger receptor would provide an upgrade.

Apple Watch models with LTE can be used without an iPhone, but still hesitate to leave the iPhone at home.

It's hard to imagine a future where the Apple Watch replaces or outperforms the iPhone, but perhaps we said the same thing when cell phones replaced landlines.

However, don't expect to get rid of your cell phone so soon. The iPhone 12 is coming soon. This is just a patent, and there is no guarantee that Apple will not use this antenna system soon, or at all.

Nevertheless, it will be a small step in that direction when Apple introduces the Apple Watch 6 in the fall. The new smartwatch is rumored to offer better battery life, blood oxygen monitoring, etc.
