Xbox Game Pass Streaming is coming to iPhone — Here's the proof

Microsoft's xCloud game streaming is finally coming to the iPhone and iPad.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer has called "all" Microsoft employees to tell them that Xbox game streaming is coming to iOS, Business Insider reports. Currently, xCloud game streaming is available on Android devices through the Xbox Game Pass app, but is not yet available on other devices.

That's likely to change, as Microsoft previously said it plans to bring Xbox game streaming to Xbox consoles and PCs. And now Apple devices are likely to be its target.

Xbox game streaming was previously on iOS devices as part of the xCloud beta, but due to App Store restrictions, only Halo: The Master Chief Collection was allowed to stream. xCloud. Since being taken out of beta, the Xbox Game Streaming app has disappeared from the App Store. xCloud stopped testing the streaming app in August, although it is unclear what restrictions the App Store placed on it.

Apple initially blocked Xbox Game Streaming from iOS due to claims that the company could not review all games on the service. However, the Cupertino tech giant recently amended its rules to allow the game streaming service.

Apparently, Spencer told Microsoft employees that xCloud will be accessible from iOS devices through the browser-based system in 2021, thus circumventing these App Store restrictions. Amazon appears to be moving in a similar direction with its game streaming service Amazon Luna, which will support iOS for browser-based play.

Given that iPads and iPhones can connect to an Xbox wireless controller via Bluetooth, both devices seem well suited for xCloud. We also tried Xbox Game Streaming on an Android device and were suitably impressed. It is therefore a shame that iPhone and iPad users will be left behind.

With the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S scheduled for release on November 10, we wouldn't be surprised to see xCloud extended. we should know more about Microsoft's iOS streaming plans in the coming months, so stay tuned.
