Best Prime Day TV Deals 2020 — Best Last Minute TV Bargains

The Prime Day TV sale continues to go strong in the final hours of Amazon's big two-day sale. You can still find big discounts from all major brands, including Samsung, LG, Sony, TCL, and Fire TV Edition brands like Insignia and Toshiba.

There are many selections in terms of size and picture quality, from 32-inch to heavily discounted OLED TVs. Here are all of the best deals on TVs for Prime Day 2 as we approach midnight (PT), the end of Amazon's sales event.

TVs are one of Amazon's best-selling products on Prime Day. Not surprisingly, Amazon's own Fire TV tends to see the biggest price drops. According to the retailer, it sold "millions of Fire TV Edition Smart TVs" on Prime Day last year.

Thus, if you are looking for an inexpensive Smart TV, the Fire TV Edition set is probably your best bet. These TVs sell for less than $100. For example, Insignia's 24-inch 720p Fire TV was on sale for $99.99 earlier this month. On Prime Day, a 39-inch version of this TV could sell for $99.

If you want a TV with 4K resolution and HDR support, Insignia and Toshiba's Fire TV will again lead the pack. Expect models like Insignia's 50-inch 4K Fire TV to drop to $199. Toshiba's 50-inch 4K Fire TV, on the other hand, could go below $299.

We also expect 4K TVs from TCL, Hisense, LG, and Samsung to sell at Amazon Prime Day TV prices; TCL and Hisense are expected to lead the price decline with 50-inch panels selling for as low as $279. Meanwhile, 70-inch TVs could sell for $549 or less, as recently seen on Labor Day.

While the majority of Prime Day TV specials are focused on LCDs, expect to see some specials on more expensive OLED TVs as well. But don't expect all of them to be offered by Amazon. Last year on Prime Day, the LG E8 55-inch OLED TV dropped to an all-time low of $1,299. However, that sale was offered by Amazon competitor Newegg.

When it comes to OLED sales, we suggest keeping an eye on Best Buy. On Labor Day, LG and Sony OLEDs were discounted up to $1,200. On Prime Day, we expect OLED prices to drop to $999.

Amazon is not alone in its Prime Day TV specials. Rivals Best Buy and Walmart tend to have similarly aggressive TV sales during Amazon's holiday period. In fact, last year Best Buy sometimes offered the same prices as Amazon's Prime Day TV sale, but with specials that Amazon does not offer. (Recall, a few years ago, Best Buy and Amazon struck a deal whereby Best Buy would become an authorized seller of Amazon's Fire TV Edition TV. As a result, the two companies tend to offer the same prices, although Best Buy may have a larger inventory of certain models.

Walmart, on the other hand, tends to offer Prime Day TVs at impressive prices for models not advertised by Amazon, such as Sceptre and Vizio. We will continue to track each retailer's deals, but it is worth noting that when it comes to TVs, Amazon is one of the few retailers offering excellent deals.
