PS5 gives a big boost to this beloved action game

"Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition" will feature amazingly customizable graphics options on PS5 and Xbox Series X.

This was learned from a post on ResetEra by Capcom USA staffer WBacon, with details from "Devil May Cry 5" producer Matthew Walker. This is in response to rumors of different frame rates for the PS5 and Xbox Series X, which appear to be false from this news.

There are a total of four graphics options, two with ray tracing and two without. With ray tracing on, you can choose 30 fps at 4K resolution or 60 fps at 1080p. With ray tracing off, you can choose 60 fps at 4K or up to 120 fps at lower resolutions.

While 4K resolution with ray tracing enabled will definitely make the game look more attractive in screenshots, the 30fps frame rate will significantly change the feel and play of the game, especially if the original game is running at 60fps. However, not all PS5 and XSX owners will own a 4K TV or monitor, so Capcom is doing the best possible outcome by offering fans a choice.

The original DMC5 was a great return to form for the series. It already featured three playable characters, the campaign slaughtered a large number of demons on multiple difficulty levels, and the "Bloody Palace" survival mode got progressively trickier.

The Special Edition adds a fourth character, the katana-wielding, calculating Virgil, a higher difficulty mode for the campaign called Legendary Dark Knight, and a Turbo mode to speed up the action, and PS5's signature features Dual Sense haptic feedback and 3D audio are supported; the game will be available as a digital download upon the launch of the PS5 and Xbox Series X, with a physical launch planned for December.
