Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro Just Leaked — Let's take a first look at the AirPods Pro rivals

A few days ago, we heard about a new version of the Galaxy Buds that Samsung may release along with the Galaxy S21, due in January. And now, thanks to leaked information, we have our first look at the Galaxy Buds Pro.

The images come courtesy of superleaker Evan Blass, who tweeted an official-looking rendering of the rumored earbuds. In a subsequent post, Blass summarized data from an earlier report on the Galaxy Buds Pro, saying that they will offer active noise cancellation, the same feature found in the popular AirPods Pro.

Earlier rumors indicated that the earbuds Samsung is working on are called Galaxy Buds Beyond. However, recent filings with the FCC confirm the name Galaxy Buds Pro.

According to the Blass leak, the Galaxy Buds Pro resembles the original Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Buds Plus, not the bean-shaped Galaxy Buds Live that was released in late summer. However, the matte surface surrounding the small glossy panel of the Buds Plus appears to be abandoned in favor of an overall glossy surface.

However, these aesthetic changes do not extend to the earphone case, and the Galaxy Buds Pro 472mAh battery charging case resembles the Live model.

According to a leak from Blass, the new Galaxy Buds Pro may also offer active noise canceling capabilities that the Galaxy Buds Plus did not. Since the earbuds will be worn inside the ear, they will likely have improved sealing to make this feature worthwhile; the Blass leak does not go into further detail about the additional specs expected from the Buds Pro, so there is not much information about what will be done to improve on Samsung's previous releases There is not much information about what will be done to improve previous Samsung releases.

Unfortunately, there is also no pricing information yet for the new Buds; the Galaxy S21 series is rumored to debut on January 14, and the Buds Pro will likely appear with that phone.

For now, however, it looks like the Galaxy Buds Pro could compete with Apple's AirPods Pro, at least in terms of basic functionality.
