Android 11, OneUI3 Comes to Samsung Galaxy S20: What you Need to Know

Those who have been eagerly awaiting the day Samsung releases Android 11 are in luck. After being in beta for several months, a stable version of Android 11-based OneUI 3.0 is finally being released by Samsung.

Additionally, if you're on Verizon, there's good news. The carrier has already released an update, which you only need to install to enjoy all that OneUI 3.0 has to offer.

The update is currently rolling out to Samsung Galaxy S20, S20 Plus, and S20 Ultra in the US, Europe, and Korea, so it should be in your hands within a few days. Galaxy Note 20, Z Fold 2, Z Flip, Note 10, Fold, and S10 also Updates will be available within the next few weeks.

Unfortunately, Galaxy S20 FE owners will have to wait, as Samsung just began beta testing the update in Korea earlier this week. However, since the phone is very similar to the standard S20, let's hope it won't take too long for the stable version to roll out.

OneUI came out a few years ago and completely revamped the user interface in the process. The point was to create a unified interface across all Samsung Android devices, with a particular emphasis on improving one-handed phone use (especially on larger phones).

OneUI 3.0 includes further tweaks and improvements to the interface and many small improvements from Android 11. These include the option to long-press an app icon for quick access to widgets, messaging bubbles, a revamped volume slider, double-tap to turn off the display, and wireless DeX support.

If you have a Galaxy S20 and want to experience it all firsthand, stay tuned for the update. It shouldn't be long before it arrives on your phone.
