Wal-Mart has just fixed the worst things about online shopping

Wal-Mart and FedEx have teamed up to take the hassle out of returning items during the holiday season. Wal-Mart recently announced a new service, Carrier Pickup by FedEx, which allows customers to make returns from the comfort of their own homes. And it's free for everyone. (No subscription to Walmart Plus is required).

Another attempt to compete with Amazon Prime, this service is very simple. All items purchased online (i.e., items shipped and sold by Walmart) can be returned using the new Carrier Pickup service. The return process can be done online or through the Walmart app, where a free return label can be downloaded and printed. Simply place the return label on the package and FedEx will come to your home to pick up the returned merchandise.

If you do not have a printer at home, you can still take advantage of this new service. Simply select "Deposit with FedEx" as your return method at Walmart, and you will receive a return code (QR code) to take to your local FedEx office. A FedEx agent will read the QR code from your smartphone and print a return label.

According to Walmart, refunds will be credited to your payment account as early as the next day, or the same day for in-store returns. The best thing about Walmart's new return policy, however, is that it is available beyond the holiday season.
