Samsung Galaxy Bud Pro Hands-on Video Leak review key features

Samsung's Galaxy Buds Pro has been leaked numerous times over the past few weeks, but none more revealing than a new hands-on video by YouTuber Digital Slang. Thanks to that Galaxy Buds Pro video, many of the specs and features that have been rumored about these wireless earbuds have actually been shown off.

Digital Slang, who apparently purchased the wireless earbuds from a seller on Facebook prior to the January 14 announcement, was filmed operating the Galaxy Buds Pro and running the included Samsung Wareable app. In the process, he confirmed a variety of rumored features, including active noise cancellation, clarity mode, voice detection, and IPX7 waterproofing.

All of these features (and more) have been leaked previously, but this is the first and only video showing the Galaxy Buds Pro in action; you can see how both ANC and Transparency modes switch to various levels of effect, and you can also see how the Galaxy Buds Pro is designed to be used in the field, Voice Detect does exactly what it was rumored to do - if you speak when Voice Detect is enabled, the transparency mode is automatically enabled, making it easier to talk.

The Galaxy Buds Pro also allows for limited control customization. You can change what you can do by pressing and holding the touch control sensor, such as turning the volume up or down, starting Spotify, or calling the Bixby voice assistant. IPX7 water resistance, a first for Samsung earbuds, has also been confirmed for the Galaxy Buds Pro.

Digital Slang also notes that the charging case and the Galaxy Buds Pro itself are noticeably more compact than the Galaxy Buds Plus. It further explains that although the ANC is "not so impressed" with the AirPods Pro, the Galaxy Buds Pro sounds great and the clarity mode works particularly well.

Curiously, there is no mention of Spatial Audio, another rumored feature that copies the AirPods Pro's functionality by tracking head movements and creating digital surround sound effects. However, as Digital Slang points out in another video comparing the Galaxy Buds Pro and Galaxy Buds Plus, he does not use the firmware provided with the retail models at launch, so Spatial Audio may be available in the full release There is a possibility that.

Not that there is anything left to reveal yet, but Samsung should officially unveil the Galaxy Buds Pro along with the Samsung Galaxy S21 at the newly scheduled Galaxy Unpacked event on January 14. If, as these videos suggest, the sound quality and a host of features are maintained, it will be a new addition to the list of best wireless earbuds.
