I love thrillers, but those involving tense crime dramas are always an unforgettable experience. For this reason, I'm always looking for a gripping story that will stick with me long after I've watched it (because it's the best).

Prime Video, one of the best streaming services, has become my go-to for a great mix of suspense, mystery, and nail-biting drama. Here are five of the crime thrillers available on Prime Video that not only intrigued me, but also earned an excellent 90%+ rating on Rotten Tomatoes. These top-ranked films promise strong plots, complex characters, and twists that keep you guessing.

“The Man from Reno” is an interesting intertwining of two seemingly unrelated stories.

The film follows Aki Akabori (Fumiko Fujitani), a Japanese crime novelist who visits San Francisco to escape the pressures of fame and career. During her stay, she becomes romantically involved with a mysterious man named Akira (Kitamura Kazuki), but he suddenly disappears, leaving behind a suitcase and a trail of questions.

Meanwhile, nearby town sheriff Paul del Moral (Pepe Serna) is investigating an unidentified man wandering the fog-shrouded roads after a car accident. As Aki and Sheriff Del Moral cross paths, they become embroiled in a complex case involving a murder.

“No Country for Old Men” is a classic crime thriller worth watching, set in 1980 West Texas and revolving around three main characters: Llewellyn Moss (Josh Brolin), Anton Chiger (Javier Bardem ), and Sheriff Ed Tom Bell (Tommy Lee Jones).

Llewellyn Moss is a welder who stumbles upon a drug deal in the desert and discovers a briefcase containing $2 million. Determined to take the money, he is targeted by Anton Chigger, a ruthless and psychopathic hit man hired to get the money back. Meanwhile, Sheriff Ed Tom Bell is an aging lawman trying to make sense of the escalating violence and chaos. He reflects on the changing times and his own feelings of being outnumbered by the atrocities he encounters.

“Witness” tells the story of Samuel Rapp (Lucas Haas), an Amish boy who becomes the sole witness to a brutal murder while traveling with his mother Rachel (Kelly McGillis) in Philadelphia. When his investigation puts him and the Rapp family in danger, Book hides out with them in their Amish community to protect them and recover from his injuries. Now he must adapt to the Amish way of life and navigate the new mutual attraction between him and Rachel. Yes, there is romance in this film, but it is still one of the best crime thrillers.

“The Limey” centers on Wilson (Terence Stamp), a British ex-con who travels to Los Angeles to investigate the mysterious death of his daughter Jenny (Melissa George).
