The Conclusion of the Season 6 Part 1 Finale of “Cobra Kai” Explained

As of today (July 18), the first installment of “Cobra Kai” Season 6 is officially available on Netflix, and the 15-episode blockbuster season will be distributed in three parts, with Part 2 scheduled for November 28 and the final five episodes for an undetermined date in 2025, putting fans on an outrageous cliffhanger

The struggle was.

In the sixth and final episode of the martial arts drama's final season, Daniel Larusso (Ralph Macchio), Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), and the students of Miyagikido are determined to prove that their dojo is the best, and they are preparing for the International Karate Tournament in Barcelona, where the world's best will gather in They are preparing for the World Championships.

And in Episode 5, we get our first look at the Sekai Taikai Championships and the fighters competing, including a surprising addition to the Cobra Kai team. Please note spoilers.

The organizers of the World Championships needed the final registered fighters from each dojo before the tournament, and the Miyagi Road staff had to decide which male and female fighters would captain the teams. Miguel Diaz (Zorro Maridueña) and Robbie Keane (Tanner Buchanan) were nominated for the men's team, and Tory Nichols (Peyton List) and Sam Larusso (Mary Mouser) for the women's team.

“The captains are not just there to lead the team,” Daniel explains to the group. 'If they can make it to the finals, it's them who will be fighting in the finals.'

Perhaps because of the pressure, Johnny makes the foursome watch Eric Roberts movies and throws beer bottles at them to check their balance.

In a head-to-head competition between the pairs, Robbie wins over Miguel and becomes the male captain of Miyagido. Sam becomes the female captain by default after Tory quits the dojo. (More on this later.)

Throughout the first five episodes of Season 6, Johnny and Daniel are at odds over how to teach Miyagi-Do students. Daniel is particularly upset that Johnny is “cramming his old macho nonsense into his lessons,” and Johnny is angry when he learns that Daniel is training Miguel and Sam individually behind their backs.

The long simmering tension between the two teachers boils over at the captains' tournament, and while Johnny sides with Tory (more on this later), Larceau chooses to break up the fight with Sam. Daniel says that fighting in anger is not the Miyagimichi way, but Johnny says he is tired of hearing about Miyagimichi and calls the old teacher a liar and a thief. Johnny declares that when Sekai Taikai is over, he and Daniel are done “for good.”

Early in the season, Daniel and Chozen Toguchi (Yuji Okumoto) discover a box long hidden under the floorboards of Miyagi-Do. Inside the box are some puzzling items, including a passport under a different name and a newspaper clipping with details of a robbery and manslaughter case that Miyagi committed when he was younger.

Daniel spends most of Season 6 wrestling with the idea that the man he thought he knew, the man he had been taught all along through his work at Miyagi Road, was not the same man he knew through the secret box. And when Daniel receives the official bowl of the World Championships at the end of episode 5, he realizes another startling detail about Mr. Migai's past.

And then comes the big cliffhanger of Part 1. After a meeting with his mother's doctor, Tory is shocked to meet Cleese in the parking lot. As he tries to pull her out of Cobra Chi, he tells her: when push comes to shove, I'll be sure to find a reason to make the Larusso kid's second coming.” I'm a champion, but I'm not yours.”

However, Tory's situation changed when her mother tragically died of a pulmonary embolism in episode 5. Tory grieves quietly for most of the episode, until her captain's showdown with Sam begins. However, the confrontation is temporarily interrupted when Amanda receives a phone call informing her of Tory's death.

Daniel respectfully asks for the match to end, but Tory is adamant: “My mother would have wanted this to continue. I have to do this for her.” Despite Johnny's support, Tory is not allowed to continue the match. Angry at this decision, she quits Miyagi-do. [But not as a member of Daniel and Johnny's team. But not as a member of Daniel and Johnny's team. She seems to have accepted Cleese's offer and is fighting as a member of Team Cobra Kai.

Stay tuned for Season 6 Part 2 of “Cobra Kai” on November 28.
