Not only was the trailer for "Gladiator 2" released today, but the teaser trailer for the reboot series "Time Bandits" was also released. Yes, Apple TV Plus has produced a show version of the original film, which scored an impressive 91% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Director Terry Gilliam's distinctive visual style, elaborate sets, and practical effects created a rich and immersive world that enhances the film's sense of wonder.

The original story was full of dark humor and satire, especially through its interactions with quirky characters and historical figures. Beyond its exciting plot, however, the film explores interesting philosophical ideas, such as the concept of good versus evil and the importance of imagination. In this reboot new series, 11-year-old Kevin (Kal-El Tuck) joins a group of mischievous thieves who travel through time to steal treasures from different places throughout history. Originally tasked by the Supreme Being to repair the rifts in time, these thieves now exploit time portals for fun and adventure. Giants, demons, and pure chaos as they leap through time.

The official synopsis provided by Apple TV Plus says: "Eleven-year-old Kevin's passion for history is tested when he joins a ragtag band of time-traveling thieves on a high-risk, hilarious adventure in this epic re-imagining of the iconic film.

Joining little Kevin is the group's leader, Penelope, played by Lisa Kudrow (familiar from the hit show "Friends"). Other characters include Judy (Shirin Yee), Alto (Tadge Murphy), Widget (Roger Jean Nysengyumva), and Bitterig (Rune Temte). The trailer also reveals some more interesting characters, one of whom is Taika Waititi as the supreme deity (who I initially thought was Poseidon). And then there is Pure Evil (Jemaine Clement), the series' villain, who wants to use modern technology to rule the universe.

"Time Bandits" blends adventure, fantasy, and humor as Kevin discovers the details of time travel and how his life suddenly changes. Hopefully this series will capture the stunning chaos and charm of the original film while introducing it to a fresh audience. Frankly, just by watching the trailer, I already have high hopes for the film.
