Forget Prime Day - Walmart's "Biggest Sale Ever" Starts July 8

Amazon announced the date for its next major event, Prime Day. Not to be outdone, Wal-Mart also announced a shopping day on July 8. If true, this could be a massive opportunity for deal hunters, as Wal-Mart has held huge sales in the past.

The event, which Walmart is calling "Walmart Deals," will run from July 8 through July 11. Walmart is calling this event "Walmart Deals," and it will run from July 8 through July 11. The company claims to be offering up to 50% off thousands of items, so whether you are looking for the latest technology or household items, there should be plenty of good stuff to buy.

As is usual with deal events like this, what will be on sale will be a surprise once it begins. However, Walmart has previewed several deals, and they look promising. For example, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 will be discounted $80. If you cook, the Emeril Lagasse Power Grill will be discounted $119. For gamers, there is a price cut for the Nintendo DS. General tech products will be up to 40% off.

Unlike Prime Day, Walmart Deals are not by appointment only. However, Walmart Plus members will be able to start shopping five hours earlier. 5 p.m. ET for regular shoppers, versus noon ET for Plus members.
