Some users in the US are starting to receive offers for a new Starlink kit from SpaceX. The kit, called the Starlink Mini, should be small enough to fit in a backpack. 

With a height of 11 inches, a width of 10 inches, and a thickness of 1.45 inches, this device is almost the same size as a very thick Chromebook, without a kickstand.

According to emails sent to potential customers, the mini will have an initial cost of front599. The Reddit thread discovered by Engadget is a mixture of people shocked by the price and people trying to reassure them that the price will eventually go down.Really par for the course in any Reddit thread.

However, shock is not without merit. The price tag of the Star599 is$100 more than the standard Starlink tray kit. Also, the user must already have subscribed to an existing residential service plan. On it, you need to add to the plan a new Mini30 Mini Roaming service subscription. 

All-in, it'sド150 a month to run an Internet router from the new universe. 

On the Starlink support page, "Our goal is to lower the price of Starlink, especially for people around the world whose connections are unruly or completely unavailable." "

From other messaging, it is unclear when or how long it will take to see the price of the device go down.

Elon Musk, spacex's controversial CEO, touted the Mini on X, saying it would be an "excellent, low-cost option." 

The Starlink Mini is powered by DC and is probably capable of up to 100Mbps download speeds. And in comparison with the usual kit, the Starlink Mini has a built-in Wi-Fi router. 

Other components include a kickstand, a pipe adapter, a power supply, and a USB-C cord with a barrel jack. 

The device is currently available in some countries in South America and is currently only available in the U.S., but at X, Michael Nicolls, VP of Starlink Engineering, said the company will increase production.
