Top 10 Netflix Movies - Here are 3 worth watching now!

I don't know about you guys, but every time I open the Netflix app, my mind goes completely blank on what to watch. So I frequently peruse the Top 10 Most Watched Movies to get an idea. Sure, this kind of ranking on the best streaming services is no guarantee of quality, but it's a great tool to quickly cut through the noise.

To get an idea of which movies are actually worth promoting, we narrowed down the Netflix Top 10 best movies. The list includes a touching documentary about Gene Wilder (just in time for Father's Day), a new shark horror that audiences are already comparing to "Jaws," and an Ultraman reboot that I may have prematurely dismissed.

Sadly, "Godzilla Minus One" finally missed the top 10 after two consecutive weeks in the top 10. (I do recommend it, however. Ha ha. Go see a Godzilla movie. It's a really good movie, as everyone says).

For reference, this article is based on the Netflix Top 10 list of most-watched movies in the U.S. as of 11 a.m. ET on June 15. For more recommendations, check out our guide to the best movies new to streaming or all new to Netflix this month.

After finally watching "Under Paris," I can confirm that it's as dumb as it looks, but that's kind of the best part. It's "Sharknado" meets "The Da Vinci Code". Directed by Xavier Gens, "Under Paris" begins with a wayward apex predator slipping from the open sea into the Seine. This "Jaws"-like film also comes at an incredibly inopportune time, as Paris is hosting its first triathlon world championship (likely a nod to the 2024 Olympics).

This is because triathletes would naturally not want to calculate the macros of a shark bite. The brilliant scientist (Bérénice Bejo) who first discovered the sharks lurking in the Seine works with the police to prevent a massacre, while also confronting her own tragic past, which can only have been packed with sharks and water-related trauma.

You may have noticed that there are no stereotypical "dad" movies on this list ("Under Paris" would qualify, I suppose). But you'd be hard-pressed to find a father who doesn't enjoy Gene Wilder's films.

"Remembering Gene Wilder" takes us from his iconic role in "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" to his appearances in such Mel Brooks classics as "Blazing Saddles," "The Producers," and "Young Frankenstein" to Wilder's great Revisiting the hits, the film takes a nostalgic stroll through the Hollywood star's career. This biographical documentary celebrates this great American actor with archival footage, rare home videos, and interviews with his family, friends, co-stars, and many collaborators, including Mel Brooks, Alan Alda, and Carol Kane. Rotten Tomatoes has unusually achieved a 100% audience turnout.

To be honest, when I heard that Netflix was rebooting a popular Japanese hero from decades ago, I wasn't expecting much. But if "Ultraman Rising" turns out to be great, I'll gladly eat crow: if "Ultraman Rising" turns out to be one of the few good reboots, I'll gladly eat crow (after all, not all reboots are flops, Most of them are flops). And with the animated film currently sporting a respectable 81% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes (audiences are even more overhyped at 97%), consider my curiosity piqued.

"Ultraman": Ultraman: Rising follows Ken Sato (voiced by Christopher Sean in the English dub), a self-absorbed baseball star who leads a secret life as a giant superhero, Ultraman. His life is further complicated when he returns to Tokyo after an attack by a giant monster and adopts a baby monster after defeating his mother. Along with unwilling parenting, Ken must overcome a strained relationship with his estranged father and thwart a plot by the Monster Defense Force to exploit the baby monster.
