Officially it's Pride Month, and as the company does every year, Apple is offering Apple Watch users a fun way to celebrate through the 2024 special edition Pride Edition band.

This year's Pride Edition band, eight years into the annual tradition, may still be my favorite. This is a version of the popular braided solo loop that represents a full rainbow treatment, featuring brightly dyed strands intended to represent all corners of the LGBTQ+ community.

Especially the band comes with laser-etched lugs that say "Pride 2024"."In addition to the familiar colors found in the pride flag, black and brown strands represent black, Hispanic and Latin communities, and communities affected by HIV/AIDS, while pink, light blue and white colors represent transgender and non-binary individuals.

Braided solo loops are well suited to the notion that communities are woven together. For me, it's a reminder of how interconnected we as humans are, and therefore with respect and support each other
