Netflix Top 10 Movies — Here are 3 Movies Worth Watching Right Now

Whenever I don't know what to watch on Netflix, I run straight to the top 10 most watched movies list. Sure, these kinds of rankings of the best streaming services don't guarantee quality, but it's great for cutting noise

So how do you figure out which movies are worth the hype? That's where we come in. Here in Tom's Guide, we've narrowed down the best movies you can watch right now on Netflix's top 10. The list includes 1 of the best original Netflix films of the year, a new Shark horror that viewers are already comparing to "Jaws", and finally a movie that won the Godzilla franchise last year's first Oscar. (Yes, I'm annoying about Godzilla movies. Look at it.

This article is based on the Netflix Top 6 list of 9 most-watched movies in the United States as of 11 a.m. ET on May 10. For even more streaming recommendations, check out our guide to the best new movies that have just landed on streaming and all new movies on Netflix this month.

Have you ever written about Godzilla Minus One, which made it into Netflix's Top 10 last week? Yes. Is it still there? Yes (although some places are down from the previous #1 spot). This gives me a great excuse to say: I'm asking you to consider seeing "Godzilla Minus One" once again."Yes, even if you've never seen a Godzilla movie in your life. (It was also the first for me when I was blown away by it in the theater. The film is as much about the indelible human spirit as the monster does.Ok Kaiju Penanigan

Written and directed by acclaimed CG animator and VFX artist Takashi Yamazaki, the oscar-winning "Godzilla Minus One" is set during the Doomsday of World War II after the nuclear bombs of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. He follows Kamikaze pilot Shikishima Koichi (Kamiki Ryunosuke), who makes a pit stop on Odo Island and hesitates on a mission. He has no way of knowing that the surrender of Japan is on the horizon. But after a fateful encounter with a reptile behemoth that will land and wreak havoc, he is sure that the life he has known so far is over. Shell Shock and guiltridden, his faith shaken by the senseless carnage of war, band together with his fellow soldiers to save something he's worth fighting for.

I haven't seen "Under Paris" yet, but after listening to the premise, I immediately added it to my watchlist. It sounds exactly like a silly (affectionate) horror movie like me. "Under Paris," directed by Xavier Gens, sees the French capital exposed to terror by wayward apex predators who abandon their homes in the open ocean in favor of the Seine.

That alone would be enough of a headache, but this wannabe Jaws comes at a very inconvenient time, as Paris plans to host the first World Triathlon Championship (perhaps a nod to Paris hosting the 2024 Olympics). At major sporting events on the horizon, the arrival of sharks can spell disaster. After all, triathlons prefer, ideally, to attach limbs so that there are no bite marks. The brilliant scientist (Bérénice Bejo), who first discovered what lurks in the Seine, joins forces with the police in the race to prevent the carnage. And of course, along the way, she'll have to face her tragic past, I think being crammed into the gills with sharks and water-related trauma

Director Richard Linklater's sexy, nihilistic comedy "The Hitman" has been a hit for years. Now it holds an impressive 97% score on Rotten Tomatoes Critics call it a ride on a genre-bending rollercoaster, and Glenn Powell, the director of the film, has been nominated for best original screenplay.

A refreshing crime caper and rom-com mix, starring Powell as "Hitman" Gary Johnson, Moonlit Strait Thong Professor as contract killer. Except that it's not really, it's all an act put on a catfish wannabe criminal. But when Femme Fatale (Adria Arhona) asks him to take her abusive husband out, Gary breaks the protocol. Desperate to hide his true identity from her, he sets off a chain reaction of theatrical acting, deception, and may have fatal consequences in
