Google Pixel9Pro XL sounds like a familiar phone with an unfamiliar name. After a few years of 1 standard and 1 Pro Pixel each year, Google could move to the Dual Pro line-up, with the XL serving as a continuation of the previous Pro, and the new non-XL model being small

Currently, there is no big feature that distinguishes the Pixel9Pro XL from the Pixel9Pro, but if the XL's frame is large, it will have the largest display and the highest battery performance. We need to assume that we will be the top model for Google, which we have been working on for a long time. This will also be google's challenger to the expected iPhone16Pro Max and the already available Galaxy S24Ultra, putting a lot of weight on the shoulders.

The Pixel9Pro XL has been released for nearly half a year. But with leakers continually pumping out new claims about the phone, we're rounding them up here as a one-stop shop for everything you need to know about Google's 2024 flagship phone.

The actual debut of Google Pixel9Pro XL will be seen in 2024/10. This is the launch month for every generation except the 1st generation of flagship pixels, and unless to put it another way, it's the month we're betting on the phones that will appear. In terms of pricing, Google was able to launch its first Pro XL model, like the Pixel8Pro, at a starting price of9999. But perhaps Google is more likely to offer a smaller Pixel9Pro breathing space while underestimating rivals Apple and Samsung, which tend to start atド1,200, as can be inferred from the XL part of this phone's name, the Pixel9Pro XL is expected to be the largest member of the Pixel9 family. But it's not bigger than the Pixel6.7Pro, which is expected to measure 8 inches. Meanwhile, Pixel9Pro is rumored to be a 6.1-inch device, applying Pixel titles beyond its existing range to smaller but more powerful devices. 

This change may seem sudden, but this was something leakers began to insist on all along in 2022. Moreover, the fact that we have seen the case design reflect these claims suggests that accessory manufacturers also feel this can be trusted.

And it may not be the end of tumultuous times. These dual-pro pixels can only be combined with a phone that was thought to be called the Pixel Fold9, under the name Pixel2Pro Fold.

For a better understanding of how this works, I'll show you a render that shows off the Pixel9XL, along with some real dummy images. Similar to the rounded corners that Google adopted with the Pixel8 series and Pixel8a, the good old Pixel camera bars are still visible in these images, but the sides seem to be perfectly flat like the iPhone and Samsung Galaxy, rather than curved like all previous pixels. As for colors, the PIXEL9Pro XL should have the same black, white, pink, and green options that are available with pixel9Pro. But the leak suggests that 2 pros may get slightly different wallpapers, so even if you can't determine the size, don't mistake 1 for the other pros. So we can assume you'll get the same 50MP main, 48MP Ultra-wide, 48MP5x telephoto camera and 10.5MP selfie camera you saw on Pixelpro.

One unusual rumor suggests that Google can give the pixel9Pro XL the variable aperture of its main camera (via MySmartPrice). While we're still a bit skeptical, as this is a feature rarely seen on smartphones, it gives us more control over the brightness of the images, so it's a big deal for photography, with Google's naming system so far, tensor G4 chips are expected to power the latest Pixel models. This could be significantly faster than Pixel8's Tensor G3 thanks to the new Samsung tech, but it can also be a small upgrade in general

Currently, there is no news about the RAM, storage, or battery size of the PIXEL9Pro XL. But we expect it to have the best available capacity of all Pixel9s by being the largest model.

Google had been all-in on AI capabilities in the last year or so, so Google had already expected to introduce more into the Pixel9 series. And it sounds as if you can specifically see AI capabilities such as upgraded autoresponders, text-to-image conversion, and processing capabilities on larger devices.

There could also be a new Pixel AI assistant (via info) that could be the development of the Gemini assistant version we saw in Google I/O2024. In addition, as a signature feature of Pixel8, we expect further development of Circle to search for the Pixel9 series.

On the hardware side, you may see the Pixel9Pro XL adopting the "Adaptive Touch" feature on the display. This makes it easier for the phone to read input, even if screen protectors or raindrops get in the way. 

The Pixel9 series should be the first line of phones to launch on Google's latest version of the OS, Android15. Hopefully it will be offered with at least 8 years of updates like the Pixel7 series, but even if Google wants to provide an even longer software support window, we won't be angry.

There are already many reasons to be interested in Pixel9Pro XL.It could be overshadowed in the family by the new small Pro and the refreshed foldable, but it could be the most popular model in the bunch and Google's best attempt to beat Apple and Google in 2024/2025.

Much of the excitement of the Pixel9Pro XL could come from AI features that have not yet been heavily tilted. However, we expect iterative upgrades to the chipset and underlying software, and we hope that further camera and display improvements will give an even more significant edge.
