Modern rom-coms are fun, we don't get wrong, but there's something that hits different about historical romance. The period setting adds style and elegance to the proceedings, making the story feel even lighter, as if they have been imbued with the poise of Jane Austen's novels. 

While Netflix's forays into historical romance have focused on series rather than movies (consider, for example, the global phenomenon of "Bridgerton"), they have more than a few products that will suit anyone's taste in the mood for old-time romance, complete with a covert gaze and court dance. It's always refreshing to watch classic pop-ups because Netflix doesn't have a huge selection of pre-1990 movies on its streaming service. And as for the pedigree of the film, "Out of Africa" has one of the best: director Sidney Lumet, "Out of Africa" plays Meryl Streep and Rostreep, a Danish baroness who runs a plantation in Kenya in the 1900s ・ when she was a stripper. He told her about the literary society created by him and his friends, and intrigued her, Juliet decided to travel to Guernsey to write about their group.
