Marcos 15 features a major redesign of the system settings and Siri, according to reports

Apple's macos15 is coming soon. It is due to debut at WWDC on May 6, and Apple seems to be planning to rearrange the menu and app Ui.

A report from Apple Insider suggests that the System Settings app will see most of this relocation.

When macOS Ventura was released in 2022, the System Preferences app was renamed to System Settings. Back then, the app worked and was redesigned to look like the iOS version of the iPhone and iPad.

Different settings are reorganized based on importance and priority. According to the report, the notification and sound settings are moved to the bottom of the list. It is included in music and audio changes including audio hardware and a pass-through feature for smart song transitions.

General settings have been moved under Network Settings. Other changes include moving the wallpaper and display to the general settings. Privacy and security will be smashed along with touch ID and password. Siri and Spotlight settings will be pushed into your Internet account and Game Center.

Siri has seen a few other small UI changes as well. A new monochromatic menu bar icon has been introduced to blend with existing ones. Currently, the Siri icon is multicolored. Siri is expected to see massive improvements across all Apple operating systems using the new Apple Ajax AI language learning model.

Other changes include the ongoing transition from a long-standing Apple ID to an Apple account. This adds several redesigned UI elements that affect 2-factor authentication settings and sign-in. iCloud has also changed, making it separate from your Apple account. iCloud settings are in the same place as your Internet account settings, Apple Pay, and password settings.

In addition to the Settings app, Calculators, Notes, Safari, and voice memos also receive visual updates. The calculator has been made to look more like the iOS version and adds a new math note feature that supports proper math notation.

Apparently, Safari is getting a unified menu of page controls that are being added to the URL bar. This menu allows users to switch between features such as Web Eraser and Intelligent Browser.

The report confirms previous rumors that the Notes app has acquired audio recording, transcription and AI tools. Voice memos also receive transcription of AI audio.

The annual Worldwide Developers Conference will begin on 6/10.

Apple will announce more details about the macOS15, iOS18, visionOS2, and watchOS11.
