In 2019, Double or Nothing served as the first official All Elite Wrestling event on pay-per-view. Since then, the promotion has brought some of the biggest names in professional wrestling to create some of the most memorable moments in business history, and now, to celebrate this milestone occasion, the promotion will return to the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, and back to where it all began.

However, the state of AEW looks very different from its first show. The young Bucks are more inclined to their Executive Vice President title recently and they've been running roughshod all over the place. Along with Kazuchika Okada and Jack Perry, Matthew and Nicholas Jackson have run the show with Iron Fist. They took owner Tony Khan and fellow EVP Kenny Omega out on the way. In this year's Aew Double or Nothing, "grudge" becomes the word of the night. In addition to anarchy in the arena, there are many matches with incredibly high personal stakes. First, Orange Cassidy will be one-on-one with Trent Beretta. After they failed to win the recent AEW Tag Team Championship tournament, which was eventually won by the young Bucks, things escalated when Trent turned Orange and then Beretta ended his long・time partner Chuck Taylor's career in the ring during a particularly brutal parking brawl. Finally, after making good on the former stablemate in the match, utilizing a freshly squeezed turnbuckle and a perfectly timed roll-up, Beretta accused his opponent of cheating and challenged him to Double or Nothing. Seeing this long-standing friendship collapse is hard to see for best friend fans, but things have gone way past the point of no return. There is no possibility of reconciliation here, so the best we can hope for is for Cassidy to get some

for both himself and the good old Chucky T. The next rivalry is just over 1 year pregnant. In 2023/5, Willow Nightingale won her first NJPW Strong Women's Champion against Mercedes Monet. Both competitors fought hard, but thanks to the CEO who was injured during the game, Nightingale was able to win and capture the newly named title at NJPW Resurgence. Fast forward to 2024/3 in Boston, Massachusetts. Monet made her long-awaited debut at aew and immediately let her know that she wanted retaliation from her old rival, who put her on the shelf for 1 year. Now, after many weeks of promotion, the former multiple women champion is finally ready to tackle her first televised match since her injury, and just as her opponent took the njpw Strong Women's Championship from her grab, Moné has taken on the aew TBS Championship from the Nightingale in the first ring action for promotion. The moment was highly anticipated since rumors began to spread that Monet had signed a contract with the company. Now that that moment has finally come here, the pioneers and history makers are back to the level that wrestling fans have come to expect of her over the course of her career, and Willow has levelled up in a big way since she last wrestled. Not only did she win the TBS title, she dominated the 2023 Owen Hart Cup, competed in tough street fights and honed her skills in Japan and Mexico while maintaining AEW's commitment. But the champion has reached a level enough to defeat the future Hall of Fame. It is possible, but Monet shines the most in the big game, and she was hungry for another of them for a while. When the bell rings in this match, it is more likely to sound "and new." 

Finally, speaking of champions, the main event of Double or Nothing will be Swerve Strickland's new win against Christian Cage This match would have been a major challenge for Swerve, even considering Cage's veteran status and the resumption of a long championship. However, considering the patriarch of AEW's trademark mind game, this competition takes it to the next level. Patriarchal leaders have made things incredibly personal by attacking every aspect of Strickland's existence. First, he took out Prince Nana, Swave's manager and best friend. Cage and his scoundrels then took the blood of his opponents by dipping his family photos into it. And to top it all off, the ringleader turned his own stable mogul embassy in Swerve against him. With only 1 more left, Christian is pretty sure that he will turn Swab's house into his home. Of course, the champion will not go down without a fight. Strickland got scratched and fingered to become the first black world champion at aew. There is no way he is ready to end his game-changing reign yet. And if history is a sign of something, Swerve will sacrifice even more blood, sweat, and tears to ensure victory.
