This fantasy action show has climbed the top 10 on Netflix — and it's 100% on Rotten Tomatoes

Netflix's top 10 is changing very regularly and making their way to the podium to steal even a little spotlight with some low-rated movies and shows. "Mother of the bride" recently won 1st place, but that does not mean it is worth watching. However, most of the time, this list contains great streamable content that everyone should experience.

One example of that is the animated series Blood of Zeus, which ranks 10th in the top 8 and has an impressive score on Rotten Tomatoes. It's at the bottom of the list, but it's slowly outperforming other shows such as "Evil" and "Kevin Hart: The Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize For American Humor." The second season was released just a few days ago, so this hit series will only continue to rise.

I've seen "Blood of Zeus" pop up on the best streaming service, but I'm not sure if I'll see it or not. We can help by delving into the plot of this show and revealing what critics are saying.

"Blood of Zeus" is an adult animated fantasy series that takes place in mythical ancient Greece. It focuses on Heron (voice Derek Phillips), the original demigod (voice Jason O'Mara), the son of Zeus, embarking on a mission to save heaven and earth. But when the Goddess of Vengeance unleashes huge powers on him, his journey becomes increasingly difficult.

Heron was created exclusively for Netflix, but his demigod features represent the original myth of gods and humans with children. "Blood of Zeus" aims to give us a unique story that does not just revolve around the current canon of Greek mythology. You can expect to see demons, giants, automatons, Titans, and other mythical creatures like Centaurs and Wraith.

Think of "Percy Jackson", but set in the 6th century BC, is much darker. Every episode includes some kind of gory violence, from demolition to burning, to a general violent battle between the gods.

This Netflix original series, first released in 2020, has a total of 8 episodes. Four years later Season 2 hits the small screen and contains another eight episodes that you can stream now.

Critics and audiences were especially kind to "The Blood of Zeus." It currently has 100% ratings on Rotten Tomatoes and 86% ratings, making it one of the best animated series on Netflix.

Eric Francisco of Inverse says, "The gorgeous and violent Blood of Zeus reveals where the emerging scenes of American-made anime are headed."On the other hand, the observer christopher L.Inoa pays special attention to violence by saying: "Like Castlevania, this series meets bloody violence and the gruesome end of Gore's over-gods, giants, humans and even birds."; The specialty of this series is like death by branching.

Other critics enjoyed particularly intense but deep storytelling. Comic Years' Shah Shahid is "a hierarchy of gods and their own personal drama," fueled by the looming demonic threat, and even more backstory that really makes Zeus's blood superior," Decider's John Serba also joins in the praise: "Weaving in the snatches of fear, with its crisp, clean animation, fast pace, snappy editing and creative cast."

Judging by the impressive audience score, it is clear that viewers were satisfied with the style and uniqueness of the animation. Some notable comments include "insanely good voice acting" and "It's not easy to see if you like Greek mythology."

Yes, "Blood of Zeus" is different from the other animated series currently on the streaming platform, so it needs to be streamed purely. If you like Greek mythology or have enjoyed Disney Plus's recent "Percy Jackson" series, you'll love this animated show (note that it's much darker).

A high Rotten Tomatoes score proves that critics are just as obsessed with the Netflix original as their viewers. Its inspiring animation style, gory action sequences and charismatic ensembles of characters should motivate you to watch it, given that this series actually, Season 2, is also 100% included on Rotten Tomatoes. According to critics, Season 2 is "bigger, bolder and more brutal.""
