Black Myth: Goku's visually stunning debut trailer proves that we're for some real monkey magic

If you're pending investment in the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X ecosystem, now may be the best time to reconsider. Prior to the official release of 8/20, Chinese developer Game Science has removed a short snippet of its long-awaited action RPG, Black Myth: Wukong.

To go back, the game was first announced in 2020 when the studio revealed a 13-minute gameplay trailer. The footage gives players stunning visuals, smooth movements and animations, as well as a variety of graphical effects bursting onto the screen after each successful combat hit The gameplay was narrated in Mandarin, but the video views are now over 1000 million times, so the clip did not stop becoming an overnight sensation. I had no idea what was going on.

At the time, the studio acknowledged that the game was "still far from complete" and used video as a tool to gauge player interest. In 2021, Game Science pointed out that it was aiming for a release in 2023, but the game was eventually postponed until 2024.

Well, before its release, the studio dropped a new WeGame event trailer for its debut game packed with action, lore, and of course, Monkey business

This game is based on the popular 16th century Ming Dynasty novel, Journey to the West. The story follows a Buddhist monk who travels to India from his home in southern China to reclaim the holy text while being protected by the Monkey King, who is part of the god of humans, monkeys and tricksters.

The player can also control a monkey called the "Person of Destiny" in the game and transform it into a flying insect or a giant monster. Based on the trailer, we also see the combined use of various enemies, spells, weapons and abilities like giant wolf-like creatures and large insects throughout the combat play

and also get a small look into what looks like the vast and immersive land in which the game is set. There is no further information on exactly where the game will take place, but one can guess that you will definitely be immersed in the journey to mythical creatures, fantastic references and Western lore.
